Review: Dr Babor Derma Cellular Ultimate A16 Booster Concentrate

Thursday, 22 October 2015

Babor is a brand I am constantly impressed by. Their products are truly amazing and some of my regulars in my day-to-day routine.

Their latest launch is the Derma Cellular Ultimate A16 Booster Concentrate which contains a new active ingredient called Retinew A16 which is 16 times stronger and more active that Vitamin A so you can only imagine how powerful and results driven this product is:

·         It speeds up skin renewal by activating the skin’s growth factors.
·         Decreases wrinkles and fine lines.
·         Activates the fibroblasts which produce collagen.
·         Stimulates the keratinocytes that are responsible for epidermal regeneration.
·         Skin is revitalised and renewed, resulting in a smoother younger-looking complexion.

This is the kind of product you should be considering if you are needing to see change in your skin. Yes, it is very pricey (R1800) but it will get you results. This is a fresh and, above all, a fast “reboot” for your skin.

For many years, vitamin A was the gold standard in skin renewal, however, with the new ingredient, Retinew A16, the bar has been raised. Wondering what this ingredient is all about? It is a protein fraction extracted from the seeds of the moth bean, which has been cultivated for more than 2,000
years in the Indian subcontinent. Babor now uses the power of this ancient seed in its innovative active ingredient Retinew A16. Retinew A16 speeds up skin renewal by activating the skin’s growth factors as well as the fibroblasts, which produce collagen. At the same time, it stimulates the keratinocytes that are responsible for epidermal regeneration. Revitalized in this way, the skin once again looks smooth and even – as if it had been reborn.

I have only been using this serum for two weeks, but been using it religiously and my skin truly is glowing. A teensy amount goes a long way too. Just remember to be extra vigilant with your spf us the skin is more susceptible to burning and pigmentation when using a product like this. I will give another update when I have used this for another few weeks but so far I really am impressed.

The product can be used day and night just like a normal serum would be used underneath your moisturiser after a good cleanse.
